Our Mission
We home-school for many different reasons, but our shared goal is to fan the spark, the desire to learn, that all children are born with. We seek to provide a nurturing and loving environment to facilitate that learning. Furthermore, we strive to be open-minded, tolerant, and tactful. We aim to be aware of and responsive to the needs of others in our group. Our desire is to provide a source of support, inspiration, and friendship for members of all homeschooling families in the northern emirates.
We are not a school, nor do we provide tutoring services or teach children other than our own (on a regular basis). Our association does not condone nor encourage the violation of local laws in the pursuit of homeschooling.
Membership requirements
Any homeschooling family in the northern emirates is welcome to become a member. We currently connect through Google groups, but are creating a vibrant, active community on Mighty Networks (to be launched by September).
If you decide you would like to join our group, we will arrange a Zoom chat, and then add you to our Mighty Network. If you’re unfamiliar with Mighty Networks, it is a dynamic community building platform. Additionally, we are an inclusive group, and there is no charge for joining. The only fundamental requisite is commitment to DUNEHA in an active form. If you have any special skills, expertise, or ideas for the group, let us know. We also regularly need volunteer members to assist with some of the administrative jobs that keep the group running smoothly. Please inform us if you are willing to participate in this aspect of the group.
Unfortunately, if you are only considering homeschooling, we cannot grant you membership. Please take the time to read through this website, as it has some useful ideas and tips.
